As a young man in the
mountain top village of Castelcivita, Iin Central taly, Oscar
Forlani was given a very direct choice by his mother; become a
carpenter or a baker. He had ten minutes to decide as she had
arranged for him to apprentice with either the local carpenter or
the local baker. Having carefully checked out the two "masters,"
she felt that either professions would best suit her son. He chose
to apprentice |

in the carpenter's workshop and as they say;
the rest is history. Her loving influence did not end there
though. She had big dreams for her son and knew that to fulfill
those dreams he would have to make his way to the United States.

Settling in East Boston in
1949 with his new bride Teresa, Oscar immediately set out to
establish himself as a skilled craftsman who focused on
workmanship. It was his name that |
|
served as the best means of advertising and the
reputation that he has cultivated has been earned the old fashioned
way; with hard work. That means that a "custom" kitchen by Oscar is
a work of unparalleled quality.
"Oscar
Woodworking" began modestly in a small rented space and would
eventually move to a East Boston chicken house that Oscar purchased
and renovated. The space has been |
 |
|
expanded twice
and the "shop" has been there ever since.
Eventually Oscar was joined in business by his son,
Oscar Jr. Together they have continued to provide exceptional
|
|
 |
quality and service that has set them apart in the
industry. In fact, workmanship by Oscar becomes very much a family
affair when generation after generation make their way to the
bustling work shop in East Boston to begin the process of selecting
the details that will shape their custom made kitchen or bath.

Perhaps what distinguishes a kitchen by Oscar from all
the rest comes down to one simple element; Oscar stands by his
work. Its how business was conducted years ago and today is all but
lost. It is how Oscar built a business- one satisfied customer at a
time. |
